Artist’s Note:
As part of the Afro Pick Collection, Monochrome was inspired by the simplicity and strength found in Black beauty. My goal with this piece was to create a sense of calm and dignity using a limited palette. Working in black and white allowed me to focus on texture, shadow, and the expression in her eyes without distraction. The monochrome style felt like the perfect way to celebrate the quiet resilience and elegance that often goes unrecognized but is deeply felt.
